纪录一下本人在看哈利波特的历程中看到的故意思的单词和句子。
今天是《Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone》CHAPTER TWO The Vanishing Glass
Page 24-29.
This part tell us what has happened during Harry
visited the zoo.This is the first time Harry talked to the snake,and he remembered something about Hagrid who ride a flying motorbike.
WORDS:
1.Slug:虫子，用力打。
2.Screw up： 歪曲（面部），拧紧。Can you screw up this bottle cap for me？
3.Wail：嚎啕;痛哭。
4.Frantical：猖獗地;猖獗似地。
5.Scrawny：瘦的;瘦巴巴的。
6.Hoodlum：暴徒，无赖;想起来另一个词hooligan。
7.Knickerbocker：灯笼裤
8.Reptile：匍匐生物。想起来另一个词amphibian，两栖生物。
9.Slither：滑行，匍匐，特别形貌蛇的匍匐。
10.Snooze on：小睡；打盹儿。
11.Jab：（用……）刺，戳；（拳击时用拳）猛击；猛踢（球）。文中用在形貌蛇向Harry指他的标牌。The snake jabbed its tail at a little sigh next to the glass.
12.Constrictor：大蟒。
Sentences：
1. he had taken Harry aside.take。。。aside,把什么叫到一边 。
2. He couldn’t explain how it had grow back so quickly.这句话是说Harry的阿姨把他的头发剪了很短，但是一夜之间头发又恢复原状了，Harry也表明不清晰为什么。
3. The harder she tried to pull it over his head,the smaller it seemed to become.
4. It is a very sunny Saturday and the zoo was crowed with families.
5. He stood with his nose pressed against the glass.press against glass把脸贴在玻璃上。
6. The problem was，strange things often happened around Harry。 Around 围绕着。。。。
7.’I had a dream about motorbike’,said Harry,remembering suddenly.’It was flying.’这里Harry第一次想起来一些关于Hagrid的事变。
